Welcome!!!

I am so glad that you have made it to my blog. My name is Rian, and I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 11 years. We welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby girl, in April 2009. In March 2011, we sadly lost our second child to a miscarriage at 10 weeks pregnant. Our son was born in March 2012. This is my blog....the journey through my life with the people that I love.

You are my sunshine

As the time got closer to Landon's first birthday and Kameron's fourth birthday, I knew I had to plan a joint party. As their birthdays are only 4 days apart, 2 parties is not an option. So I began to wrack my brain to think of a party theme that would work for both of them. Very quickly the idea of a "sunshine" party popped into my mind. Ever since Kameron was born I have always sung her the chorus to "You are my sunshine" and I have carried on the traditional with Landon. Even now, I sing this song to Kameron every single night before bed so it seemed fitting. So a sunshine party it was...

They had a blast!

In all I think the party was a great success. I am still in shock that Kameron is 4 and Landon is 1. I wish time would slow down, but I know it won't. And this time next  year I will be shocked once again that time went by so incredibly fast.

This is a very, very, very small portion of pictures that I took at the party. I took a total of 130. If you would like to look at them all, here is a link that should take you to my FB album. I hope everyone has a great weekend, and I hope to be back next week with Kameron's 4 year old pictures and Landon's 1 year old pictures!

Family Vacay

We had our first family vacation as a family of four. Whew....let me tell you, it was interesting. I overpacked as usual and then forgot important stuff, ya know, like soap and shampoo for the kids. Yeah, you kind of need that! hahaha. Typically in South Carolina during March you can expect temperatures around the mid 60's, yeah well, that didn't happen. It was so cold and the winds even got up to 40+mph. So we only had one really good day on the beach which happened to be our last day. Sadly, Landon got sick while we were there and we decided to leave early so that we could take him to the doctor. Come to find out he had an ear infection, which was apparently caused by a viral infection since he has since broken out in a rash. Oh and he has thrush thanks to his antibiotics. Poor guy can not catch a break.

Overall we enjoyed our trip despite the cold weather and even though we only had one good day on the beach, it provided us with wonderful memories and some pretty pictures.....

We hope to go back to the beach when it warms up, especially since both kids loved it so much! Until next time..........

Happy Birthday, Kameron!!!

My dear daughter,
How is it your are four years old? Weren't you just born? But yet here we are, 4 incredibly fast years later.

This past year you have grown and changed so much. You became a sister this past year and what a wonderful sister you are. You love your little brother so much and try to be his second mother. You help me so much with him and are always eager to play with him. I love to watch y'all playing together and laughing at each other. It is the greatest feeling as a parent watching my children play together.

You are so very smart, sometimes too much for your own good. You love to learn and know so much at such a young age. You love to know everything that I am doing and you are always asking questions.

You love to color, playing outside, and watching movies. Some of my favorite moments are when you snuggle up with me, steal my popcorn, and we watch movies together. Another thing I love to do with you is when we snuggle in your bed while I read to you at night time. I love how you watch the pages intently while I read, and how your face lights up as the story unfolds even if we have read the book a hundred times.

You make me laugh everyday and challenge me just as much. At times you drive me crazy, but I love you just the same. I am forever grateful that God blessed me with you. My life would be so empty without you in it. My prayer is that as you grow older that I will grow as a mom. I know there will be times we will butt heads, we won't agree, and you won't like me; but I hope you will always know how much I truly love you and how blessed I am that you are mine.

I love you so very much, Kameron!

Love,
Mom
