For weeks now I have been calling Landon "one step wonder" in my head because he would let go, and when you would try to coax him to come to you he would smile, take one step, and sit on his butt. Such a stinker! lol.
Yesterday as I was cooking supper he was hanging on my legs and screaming/crying. He was hungry and he wanted to eat RIGHT NOW and not wait until I was done. So I decided, you know what, I am going to see if he will walk to me since he wants me so bad (mean mama!). I put him a couple of steps away from me, stood him up and I sat on the floor. And what do you know, he took three steps to get to me!!!! After that moment when he realized that he could do it, he kept doing it. He got up to 5 steps last night and all on his own, no coaxing from us.
This morning he kept walking back and forth from the sofa to the coffee table without holding on. 6 days from being 11 months old and he is starting to walk! *tear* I am betting that he will be full out walking soon, but watch him prove me wrong! hahaha!! It would be just like him to do that.
I will be back next week with his 11 month stats and pictures! :-) Have a great weekend everyone!!
Welcome!!!
I am so glad that you have made it to my blog. My name is Rian, and I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 11 years. We welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby girl, in April 2009. In March 2011, we sadly lost our second child to a miscarriage at 10 weeks pregnant. Our son was born in March 2012. This is my blog....the journey through my life with the people that I love.

Blessed boobies
Blessed boobies....kind of a weird title isn't it? Well, today I was thinking about all the things I have had to go through to have my children. And at times I am still sad that I never got my "ideal" birth. I went from not being able to get pregnant, to needing medicine to get pregnant, to having to have a c-section just to deliver my babies. Apparently my body was not made to have children (in my mind). So when it came to breastfeeding I was determined to make it work, and it came pretty easy. I was and still am shocked. Combined I have breastfed for 28 months. Some women are not able to breastfeed whether it is from lack of proper instruction, low milk supply, or various other reasons. I, however, have been able to; and have never had to worry about a low milk supply, whether my children were getting enough to eat, and have been very successful with it. For that I am ever so thankful. So in the big picture, I may not have been able to have a baby like a normal person, but I have blessed boobies and am I thankful for them. I have had so many special moments with both of my children because of breastfeeding. Moments that my husband has not been able to share, moments that are all to me. Sure breastfeeding is hard. Sure getting mastitis is no fun. Sure there are nights that I wish I wasn't the "milk lady" because I could use a break. But that would mean giving up those moments when Landon hums as he eats, where he cradles my breast and rubs my shirt, where he stares into my eyes and looks at me with love, when he smiles at me with a mouth full of booby. Those moments are so special to me, they are moments that I will remember forever. They are moments that I would never give up for more sleep.
So when I think about the fact that I missed out on my "ideal" delivery, I just remind myself of how lucky and blessed I am that I have been able to breastfeed my children with little to no difficultly. Some women are not as lucky or blessed as I am in the booby department. ;-)

10 months stats
Weight:
22 pounds!!
Length:
Have no clue, too lazy to measure him. lol
Hair/Eyes:
looks like he is going to have dark brown hair like his dad. His eyes are still iffy. Some days they look really green, some days they look light brown to hazel. Guess we will see in time.
Clothing Size:
12 months
Diapers:
Size 5 all day every day.
Sleeping:
slowly getting better most nights. He is starting to get on a schedule as far as going to sleep every night around 10 or 10:30 and then has his set times he gets up, 2:30, 4:30, 6 & up for the day at 8. Yeah it still kinda sucks. lol
Eating:
He now eats three meals a day in addition to his breastfeeding. He still won't drink out of cup, he sees it only as a chew toy.
New Developments:
Waving bye bye
blowing kisses
saying bye bye
one new tooth about to pop through the skin
loves to pull up and then let to just stand there
he has taken one independent step and then decided he didn't like and quickly sat on his butt!
Favorite Things:
eating clementines. The boy loves them!!
Playing with a toy truck he got for Christmas
His sister
And me.....we are definitely dealing with separation anxiety when it comes to me leaving the room. I leave the room he yells...not cries...yells!!!! And then the tears start and he sobs until I return. It is really sad. :-(
Hopefully I will be back later this week with some pictures! :-)

No 9 month pictures and RSV
On Sunday, January 6th, Kameron started running a fever and coughing. I didn't think much about it, just a cold I thought. I gave her motrin and a breathing treatment. As the day went on I noticed her lips would turn purple around them. At about 8:30pm I noticed she was burning up, her fever was 103! I called my mom and we made arrangements to take her to the ER. Once we got to the ER we learned that the wait would be at least 5 hours long. Uh...yeah....not cool. The next day I took her to her pediatrician and she was officially diagnosed with RSV. With each day that passed she got worse and then on Wednesday, January 9th, Landon officially caught it as well. That day Kameron got a steroid shot to help with her cough and breathing. The next day she officially experience "roid rage". Holy moly batman. What a hard day. She was angry, she was sad, she would cry about nothing, she would scream and cry. It was horrible. If you haven't ever seen roid rage this is what it looks like.
She was so upset!! And then around 7:30pm that night she started screaming and crying that her ear hurt and she did that non-stop for 2 hours. :-( Friday we were back at the doctor office, she was now diagnosed with an ear infection, put on antibiotics, and so we began our weekend. Our weekend was full of this....
Kameron slept a total of 33 hours between 10pm Friday night and 8:30am Sunday morning. And Landon was extra cuddly.

And then last night, last night Landon started screaming and wouldn't stop
He was so not happy. Nothing would calm him down except for me to pace the floors which I have never had to do with him. So for an hour, I paced the living room toting a 21 pound baby. For 4 hours I alternated between walking, rocking, singing, and nursing. He would dose off and then I would try to lay him down, he would immediately wake up. At 3:30am I gave up, and slept with him in the recliner. Back to the doctor we went today. In case you lost count, we have been to the doctor 4 times in a week. He was diagnosed with a severe ear infection, and was given 2 shots of rocephin. We have to go back tomorrow and Wednesday for more shots.
Because of their battle with RSV, I will not be taking pictures of Landon this month. He is now 9 1/2 months old and probably won't be up to pictures for another week, thus making him almost 10 months old which defeats the purpose. So in the mean time I will share some cell phone pictures from the past 2 weeks that I love! Enjoy!
