Welcome!!!

I am so glad that you have made it to my blog. My name is Rian, and I have been married to my high school sweetheart for 11 years. We welcomed our first child, a beautiful baby girl, in April 2009. In March 2011, we sadly lost our second child to a miscarriage at 10 weeks pregnant. Our son was born in March 2012. This is my blog....the journey through my life with the people that I love.

Kameron

It is so hard to believe that in a week and half my little girl will be 3 years old!!! Time went by so fast!

How did she go from this....

1 day old
To this......

And in such a short amount of time? Oh she is my life, my heart, my light. I love her so much!! She is who made me a mother. The best possible thing in the world. She tests me, she makes me want to pull my hair out, but she can make me laugh just as quickly and cry with how sweet she is. I love her smile, her sweet laugh, and that she still loves to snuggle. She truly is the best thing in the world!

In celebration of her upcoming birthday, we took her to the park today for a mini-photoshoot. I wanted to be able to document this time her life before her brother arrives. Here are some pictures of our special trip and my beautiful girl!

A good life

As I danced in my living room with Kameron today to the sounds of One Republic I stared at her in wonder with the amazing gift that I have. My eyes grew misty as I listened to the lyrics

"When you're happy like a fool
Let it take you over
When everything is out
You gotta take it in....
....Hopelessly
I'm taking a mental picture of you now
'Cuz hopelessly
The hope is we have so much to feel good about"

I want to remember every little detail about her at this age. I want to memorize us dancing in the living room with our hair tussled from sleeping, our t-shirts billowing out around us as we spin and the sweet sound of her laughter erupting out of her as I make a silly move. I want to treasure every second that I have and marvel at the good life that I have. Many people probably wouldn't choose my life but that's okay because I probably wouldn't choose theirs. My life is not easy and at times it is overwhelming but it is a good life. My daughter, my husband and my family are the pure joy in my life.  I hope I will always remember to slow down and enjoy the moments while they are here. Moments go by so fast and you can't enjoy them when they are gone; you have to grab a hold to them now and enjoy them to the extreme.

A week of firsts!

So this week Kameron got to experience some things for the first time and she loved them!!

First off on Thursday we went to my friend's house and went swimming. Now last summer Kameron had been in a little kiddie pool but not a big pool. Based on how she behaved you would have had no clue that she had never experienced swimming. She was ready to jump right in and was not scared at all! She splashed and even kicked her little legs when I held her out from me. The only downfall from swimming was that she got stung by a wasp, but she was such a trooper. All she did was make a face and shake her hand when it happened....no tears or anything and she did not want to get out the pool. All she said when it happened was "Momma tiss it!".

Then on Saturday she got to go to her first movie!! My mom, my sister, Kameron and I went to go see Winnie the Pooh. I wish I could have taken pictures the whole time we were there but I only got this one picture

She LOVED it!!! I wish I had a video tape of the fun she had. Her eyes got so big when the movie started and she sat there staring at the movie screen! She didn't take her eyes off the screen for at least 15 minutes. Once the songs started she had to get out her seat to dance. From there on she didn't stay in her seat long because she had to dance to every song. After the movie ended she said "watch mooovie again?". hahaha....she loved it!! I was so proud of how well behaved she was. She was great and I didn't stop smiling the whole time we were at the theater because of her reactions. I love watching her experience new things!! :-)

My love bug

My love bug clings to me everyday. She is my shadow, she follows me everywhere. She wants me to sit down with her everyday so that we can watch Mickey Mouse. She likes to sit right up next to me with her arm looped through mine and she will eventually end up in my lap. She gives me unexpected kisses and hugs. She loves to touch me; rub my arm, rub my pants leg, rub my shirt sleeve, give me hugs and kisses. "Momma hold you!' she says and as I pick her up she latches her arms around my neck and wraps her legs around me. She is stuck to me like glue.

My little girl loves to be loved on and I wouldn't change a thing. The few times she takes a nap with me she can not sleep unless she is right up on me. Snuggled into my side with me rubbing her back, she will rub my shirt or my side until she falls asleep. I love this time even though I get super hot with her plastered to me. I love her sweet little hands rubbing my side and her snoring in my ear as she goes to sleep.

All these little moments I will treasure. My little love bug who makes my heart so happy!!

Overprotective sometimes psycho Momma

If I had to give myself a title it would be that....an overprotective sometimes psycho Momma. I guess waiting 2 years just to get pregnant made me appreciate having a child even more so now that she is here I DO NOT want anything to happen to her. I tend to hover when I should just let her be, but I seriously can not help it. I am VERY particular when it comes to who can watch Kameron. There are only a few people (I can count on one hand) that I will allow to watch Kameron. Once again, overprotective.

Every single night I put Kameron to bed and I will not go to sleep until she is asleep. Once she has been asleep for a little while I will go in her room and check on her before I go to sleep. I can not go to sleep until I check on her and make sure she is still breathing. Some people make think I'm crazy but I honestly can not sleep until I have done this.

I may be overprotective and sometimes psycho as Kameron's mom but I would rather be like I am instead of a very relaxed parent and something happen to her. I would be devastated if something happened to Kameron and I will do everything in my power to protect her. She may not like it so much when she is 16 but I guess we will deal with it then! :-)

Taking a break...

At the end of week one of potty training Kameron was completely unsuccessful. I was unsuccessful as well. She couldn't get the whole telling me she had to go before she went and on occasion I couldn't get her to the bathroom in time. About halfway through the week I realized that she was holding it for long periods of time. I'm talking 6 hours and up to 10 hours...no pee. This was very odd for her.

On Monday I ended up taking her to the doctor to have her ears checked out since she was pulling on them and had a nasty cold. Turns out her ears are fine but I asked the doctor about her holding it for so long. His advice....take a break from potty training. But we just started?! His theory is that she just really isn't ready yet, hasn't quite gotten the mechanics of voiding on command and therefore is holding it. So I took his advice. No more asking her if she has to go, no more sitting her on the potty, no more potty training. I figured that if she asks to sit on the potty that I will put her on there but otherwise I'm not going to bother with it for now. Lo and behold, she has been going to the bathroom just like normal all day now. So it looks like we are on hold right now but will hopefully pick up training again in a couple of months. :)
